BFA in Studio Art (Graphic Design Emphasis)

I make art because I want to create characters and tell stories. I am drawn to stories and lore in all forms – books, movies, video games, theatre, myths, and urban legends. Recurring subjects in my art include ghosts, girls, monsters, and animals, and themes of friendship and loneliness. I like to include bright colors and a sense of humor in my art and enjoy combining elements to humorous effect, such as badgers sporting fezzes or weasels wearing rocket packs. I am also drawn to urban decay, abandoned places, and ghost stories: people and places that are lost and forgotten. I create my work with cut, layered paper, which allows for a sense of texture and dimensionality.

I live and work in Lincoln, Nebraska.

I was visiting Lincoln over Thanksgiving and stopped through Gallery 9. I was hoping some of your work was there because I had been thinking of buying something of yours for quite some time.(I was really hoping for a particular piece....a Spacegirl I had seen awhile back). I was so happy to see your work there and I got The Minotaur and shipped it home. Hooray! TIt now sits on our living room mantel along with a favorite oil painting. They look swell there together, which is surprising because Minotaur's don't seem like very share-y animals. And the guy in the oil painting wears a crown and you know how selfish royals can be...Anyway The Minotaur is wonderful and makes me happy. Thank-you
